Located just a 3-minute walk from Oshiage Station, near the Skytree. Why not try calligraphy in between sightseeing and shopping in Asakusa and the Skytree? This is a private lesson for one group. Relax and experience Japanese life in a tatami room with family or friends. First, you'll receive a brief explanation of calligraphy and tools. Next, you'll practice basic calligraphy lines on calligraphy paper. After that, practice writing your favorite characters using the model. We've prepared some popular kanji characters for you to use as models, but please let your instructor know if there's a character you'd like to write. Finally, everyone will complete a large piece of calligraphy paper and choose one of several options, including small pieces of paper, postcards, and keychains. You'll create a total of two pieces. You can take home not only your finished work, but also the paper you used for practice. Once you've finished, take a photo with your work in front of the Hokusai and cherry blossom interior. You'll also receive a small souvenir!

If you would like to participate with a larger group, we can also hold the workshop at our workshop cafe, located a 5-minute walk from the atelier. Please feel free to contact us. ⚫︎Workshop Flow 1: Choose a pattern. For first-timers: Derby, Macalon, Plain, Open, Hi-Top, Sneaker, Loafers. This applies to loafers only, and is only available to those purchasing two or more pairs. *If you would like to add tassels, an optional fee of ¥4,000 will be charged. 2: Choose a sole. You can choose from three types. Flats/White, sizes 33-45; Platform/White (sizes 35-40); Platform/Black (sizes 35-40). 3: Choose your size. We offer unisex sizes from 22.5cm-29cm in 0.5cm increments.
