Hinohara Village is the only village on land in Tokyo. Deep inside the village, on a ridge well over 700m above sea level, lies the old house "Kyu Kobayashi Family Residence". Built in the mid-Edo period (more than 320 years ago), this mountain house is literally an "old house in the sky". This tour, which takes you there by mountain monorail that goes straight up a super steep slope of nearly 45 degrees, is an extremely extraordinary experience that will leave a deep impression on your memory, both geographically and historically, as well as physically.

Using our special soles and patterns, you can choose your favorite pattern, sole, and material to create a one-of-a-kind pair of original shoes in just one day! Children are welcome! If you would like to participate with a larger group, we can also hold the workshop at our workshop cafe, located a 5-minute walk from the atelier. Please feel free to contact us. ⚫︎Workshop Flow 1: Choose a pattern. For first-timers: Derby, Macalon, Plain, Open, Hi-Top, Sneaker, Loafers. This applies to loafers only, and is only available to those purchasing two or more pairs. *If you would like to add tassels, an optional fee of ¥4,000 will be charged. 2: Choose a sole. You can choose from three types. Flats/White, sizes 33-45; Platform/White (sizes 35-40); Platform/Black (sizes 35-40). 3: Choose your size. We offer unisex sizes from 22.5cm-29cm in 0.5cm increments. Please refer to the size chart and let us know your desired size in advance. You can try on samples and make changes on the day of the workshop. 4: Choose your material.
